Aurora Hunting is the main goal of the Trip!

What is an Aurora Road Trip?

Our Aurora Road Trips are at least 3 days/nights in which we only move by van based on the weather to have the best chances to see the Northern Lights. That is the goal of the trip. You will arrive and return to Rovaniemi, but we can end up in Finland, Sweden or Norway or in all three countries. If there is time during the day we visit national parks, the fjords or we go hiking depending on where we are. In the evening we hunt for Northern Lights.

With this type of tour we book last minute hotels to maximize our chances of seeing the Aurora. If possible we try to sleep two nights under the Northern Lights and have the accomodation right on point. In the last night we will hunt Auroras – if possible – on the way back to Rovaniemi. That means we can come back somewhen in the evening or even after midnight on the next day. The trip starts on the first day around 10-12 am and we will pick you up from your accomodation or the airport in Rovaniemi. 🙂 Note that a big part of the trip can be driving.

Photos & success rate

With us you have a Northern Lights hunter, photographer and driver with you. You will always be with one of us on the trip – either Luisa or Lorenzo. The photos of the trip are included in the price and you will get all of them after the Aurora Road Trip. Every single Aurora Road Trip is individual and super flexible. So far we had a success rate of 100% in Aurora Road Trips, which means we saw the Northern Lights in every single trip. 🙂

If you are really want to see the Northern Lights and you want to explore places all around Scandinavia, this might be the exactly the right trip for you. 😀

We will stay in nice cottages or apartments.
The best best time for this trip is in September and October and February and March. Just contact us and let us know when you would be availiable and we will find a great time for you.

The cost of the Aurora Road Trip is 270 Euros per person per day. In the price the accommodation is not included. The cost for accommodation for the guide (Lorenzo or Luisa) is covered by the participants and divided through all of them. Usually we stay in cottages, where we can make our own food together. The average cost for the hotel is between 70 and 120 euros per person per night (the guides part included). If you would like to include some more luxury accommodation like Igloo hotels, let us know and we can try to arrange it. 🙂
