Our Story
Hi, we are Lorenzo and Luisa.
Our story began with a shared love for the wild Arctic nature of Lapland — and especially for the Northern Lights. Since we made Lapland our home, we have been travelling to catch as many shows as possible. We became two passionate photographers that’s why every picture you see on our website is taken by us, during our own chases. From that passion, we founded our company Arctic Road Trips. We are a small company based in Rovaniemi, Finland, specializing in real Northern Lights hunting. For few years it was only us both running the company and now we are so lucky that we have a small circle of people around us that share exactly the same passional and values as us. We focus on quality, honesty, personal connection, and truly going the extra mile — sometimes literally, driving hundreds of kilometers to find clear skies.
We wanna show you the beauty and peace that we see in nature and the aurora. For us, every tour is personal. Every night is unique. We want to share passion and the adventure of the north with you.

Lorenzo
Lorenzo is originally from Verona in Italy and dreamed since age of 6 about seeing the Northern Lights in Lapland. In 2016 at the age of 24 he got the chance to move to Finland as an exchange student for his studies to become an environmental engineer. Since then he is living in Lapland chasing his dream. He is passionate about Northern Lights and its science behind and wants to know more and more all the time.
Further he is a talented astrophotographer and loves to capture the Northern Lights. Lorenzo could also collect a lot of experience in guiding and in the Arctic, as well as immense knowledge about the arctic nature and cultural backgrounds. Regarding the Northern Lights, he is an expert in everything: Best places, Photography or Physics – you can ask him anything.

Luisa
Luisa is originally from Germany. After high school and one year living in Australia she started to study tourism in Germany. This brought her in 2020 as an exchange student to Rovaniemi, Finland. She fell in love with the beautiful nature in the Lapland, its wide landscapes and the Northern Lights. The original plan to stay for half year was canceled quickly. She is a passionate photographer for landscape and Northern Lights.

Hey there! I’m Marco, I’m from Italy!
My dream of seeing the Northern Lights started back in 2005, when my parents gave me the DVD of Brother Bear. I was 11 years old… and from that moment, something lit up inside me. On February 6th, 2024, I finally saw my first aurora, thanks to Lorenzo, and from that night on, everything changed. Over the past year, I’ve traveled across Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, just to see the aurora as many nights as possible.
I studied psychology, because I truly love making people around me feel good.
And now, my dream is to help you experience the Northern Lights, just like someone once did for me.

Our dream is to share the magic of the Northern Lights and the most breathtaking places across Lapland and the Arctic with you. We want to give you the very best chance to witness this wonder of nature, which is why every trip is planned with flexibility — always following the weather and the rhythm of nature itself. This way, we maximize the possibility of standing under the dancing Aurora. We belive in quality, honesty, personal connection, and truly going the extra mile — sometimes literally, driving hundreds of kilometers to find clear skies.
Our deepest wish is not only that you see the Northern Lights, but that you also feel a true connection to Lapland’s wild nature and its timeless beauty. Our mission is simple: to turn your road trip through Lapland into an adventure you will never forget — an experience that will forever stay in your heart.
Our philosophy for every Aurora Trip: the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and no one can guarantee them. But what we can promise is that we will do absolutely everything in our power to give you the best possible chance to experience them.

Jade was awesome host, always making sure we were okay and were getting the best experience. Through out the night we witnessed the North Lights (horizon/trail across the sky come and go and were entertained. But we wanted more. We waited patiently and were not disappointed, she put on two dancing shows in the end. Magnificent. It was -31 so very cold but so well worth it.

I’m Asdi from Malaysia, and my aurora hunting experience yesterday was truly unforgettable — all thanks to my amazing tour guide, Diana.
I purposely traveled all the way from Helsinki by train just for this aurora chase and returned to Helsinki the next day using the same train. Every bit of the journey was absolutely worth it because Diana is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. She explained clearly how the aurora forms, how the colors expand, and knew exactly where and when to chase it. Within just 3 hours, we already witnessed the beautiful Aurora dancing in the sky — beyond my expectations.
What touched me the most was her kindness. Since we finished early around 12am and my train back to Helsinki was at 9am the next morning, Diana generously offered me to rest and sleep at her very cozy home. That gesture meant so much to me and made this trip even more special.

We went to one of her favorite spots and were able to see the auroras, but had to move due to clouds. As Diana says, it’s a game of patience, and it’s absolutely worth the wait. She never gives up on the group.
The group was fun, the atmosphere was great, and the colors of the auroras were even more vivid to the naked eye than on the phone. I could say we were lucky, but honestly, I think we just chose the right guide. 🤩🥰

Amazing experience! Our guide, Diana, was so fun and friendly. We sang taylor swift all the way to the aurora spot where there were no clouds and fogs, and time just flew by because of so much fun we had. Diana really did her best to influence us to fall in love with aurora huntings, and it definitely worked. Honestly, one of the most amazing nights of my life. I do hope I can experience this more often. Thank you Diana! See you in Surabaya!

The whole trip was absolutely amazing. You can truly tell that Lorenzo, our aurora hunter, is deeply passionate about aurora hunting. The entire experience lasted about 8 hours, and he didn’t mind driving all the way to Sweden (a 2-hour ride) just to chase clearer skies. When the conditions didn’t look promising there, he immediately drove us back to Rovaniemi and continued the hunt without hesitation.
We were incredibly lucky that night — we got to see the aurora dancing, not once but twice!!! It was truly magical and something I’ll never forget. Highly recommended

We did two nights of tours in Rovaniemi, and thanks to Marco from Artic Road Trips we got to see the Northern Lights — a dream come true!

Lu & Lorenzo are the best in the business, they are extremely welcoming, friendly & knowledgeable. They went above & beyond outside of hunting the Aurora to ensure our trip was one to remember, whether that was through hikes in the Artic nature, stopping at hidden gems to enjoy the local cuisine, stopping at view points to take in the breath taking views of Scandinavia or simply pulling off the side of the road to watch the reindeers cross.
Their passion and love for the northern lights is reflected in the effort they put into every tour. This trip was worth every cent and I will be returning in the future. 😌

I and my friends had nothing but a great experience! Our guide was Marco and he was super nice and super passionate about the auroras. The journey could be tiring because it may take time for the auroras to appear really brightly but Marco does really well on keeping our spirits up and keeping us excited so I really appreciated that, and he really made an effort to give us the best aurora experience. I also really appreciated the fact that the team is flexible when it comes to moving our booked date at no additional cost or giving us other options if the weather was tricky. Lorenzo and Luisa are not just tour guides — they truly love the auroras, and that makes all the difference! You can be sure they will do everything possible to find the best spot and ensure the best experience. On the days I went, there were clouds almost everywhere, and we still managed to see two incredible shows! And that’s not even counting the daytime moments. When we weren’t driving from one place to another, we visited fjords, and some of the places where we spent the nights were absolutely stunning.
I was traveling alone, and it was great — the group was relatively small, so it was easy to talk to everyone, and at no point did I feel alone in the end. And on top of everything, you get access to all the photos afterward, with amazing quality to keep those memories.
Highly recommended. My first aurora-hunting experience couldn’t have been better.

Best ❤️ Don’t go with any other agency! Some might say you can’t see the Northern Lights due to clouds or weather, but these guys go above and beyond, chasing them until you do. They give 100% effort to make it happen. Highly recommended! 💚

Our Northern Lights hunt with the Arctic Road Trip team was one of the most incredible experiences of our lives! We chose the “One Night Road Trip” and went aurora hunting for two consecutive days, guided by our guide Romain on October 2025.
On the first day, we had better weather conditions and were able to see the Northern Lights from a lake. The aurora was reflected on the water, creating an incredibly beautiful scene—something our eyes could hardly believe. On the second day, we traveled a bit farther to find a sky with fewer clouds and were able to see the aurora in a forested area, where the moon also put on a beautiful show. Our guide explained how the auroras form in the sky and gave us several photography tips, helping us set up our cameras so we could also take some photos and videos. We talked about the stars and planets, and both nights were filled with learning and awe.
We also got some beautiful photos taken by Romain, who was very patient, helpful, and attentive with everyone on the tour. It was clear how dedicated he was to making the tour the best it could be for everyone—well-prepared to find the best spots, knowledgeable in his explanations, and even concerned about whether everyone was staying warm during the cold night.
We had a safe trip back to the hotel, and the adrenaline from seeing the auroras stayed with us for a long time! I wish everyone could have this experience one day—and preferably with this team, who clearly loves what they do! We definitely recommend it and hope to return someday!

The aurora was reflected on the water, creating an incredibly beautiful scene—something our eyes could hardly believe. An exceptional four-day road trip. The clouds made things really difficult for Lorenzo, who managed to find us viewing spots every night. Three countries in four days, and every night, magnificent Northern Lights. The road trip is also about discovering landscapes, countries, hiking, sharing, and lots of laughter. Lorenzo, Luisa, and Luke have a wonderful, infectious energy; they go out of their way to allow us to experience a magical moment every day. They are only satisfied when we can see the Northern Lights. My next trip is already booked, with Arctic Road Trips of course.

I have been following these guys on instagram since forever. I was finally able to join their tour and they more than delivered.
The weather was horrendous with a big cloud blanket covering all of Scandinavia. Lorenzo and Luisa asked everyone that could to join a day earlier (for free 😱) to ensure the best chance of seeing it. And that was a sick night! Then Lorenzo and Luke raced us across Finland, Norway AND Sweden for the official tour to give us the best possible chance. And we saw aurora all 5 nights!! They went above and beyond to give you the best experience, teaching you about aurora and the region along the way.
During the day there was plenty of time for other things such as hikes. We did a lot. These guys are pros and on top of that funny! It was an absolute joy to join them. Everything was neatly arranged, communication was easy and fast, transport was great and they took care of accommodations. If I return to this area I will 100% join their tours again. The passion of these guys is unmatched and it is a joy to be able to share in that. (They also take sick shots of you 🙌🏻)

After following Lorenzo on Instagram for a couple of years I finally had the chance to go on two aurora hunts with Arctic Road Trips, one with Luke and one with Romain, and both experiences were amazing.
On the first night, the weather looked hopeless with thick clouds everywhere, but Luke didn’t give up and decided to take us all the way to Sweden. After hours and hours of chasing clear skies, we finally got to witness a beautiful aurora, something I’ll never forget as it was my very first one!
The second night was completely different: the aurora showed up early and gave us an amazing show right away. But instead of stopping there, Romain kept driving us to different spots as the aurora shifted and the conditions changed, making sure we had the best possible views for as long as we could.
